The Australian Geoscience Information Association (AGIA) held their 2015 seminar in Perth’s Technology Park on October 22. The focus of the talks were on legacy data and the future of the data management industry, with the theme of “Looking at the past, thinking of the future.”
Guy Holmes presented a paper entitled “Legacy Data – lessons learned (and ignored) from the past” covering the areas of legacy data growth acceleration, 2015 industry trends, and innovative high level concepts designed to break the legacy data management spiral.
The seminar was attended by private and public oil and gas an mineral companies, as well as research and government agencies interested in the trends and solutions available today help solve the issues surrounding legacy data.
